Diving into n8n without tutorials

I recently embarked on a self-hosted n8n journey using the Zeabur platform, relying solely on documentation, forums, and AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini to guide me. As someone with a background in computer engineering, I had a solid foundation in APIs, but I was new to automation and workflows. I found that most tutorials didn't quite fit my needs, as they typically covered only a few nodes. After two weeks and over 15 hours of building, I'm now working on a WhatsApp bot that handles customer orders and inquiries. I'd love to hear from the WebNutch community: what are some essential tips or best practices that you wish you knew when you first started with n8n? Are there any resources or strategies that could help me streamline my workflow and avoid common pitfalls? I'm excited to learn from your experiences and share my own discoveries in the WebNutch marketplace.

Great to see someone diving in headfirst with n8n! What inspired you to use Zeabur as your platform?

I've been using n8n for a while now, and I can attest to the power of just digging into the documentation. Did you find any particular nodes or workflows to be especially tricky to set up?

I've been trying to get into automation and workflows, but I'm a total beginner - can you recommend any resources for learning the basics of n8n and Zeabur? Your post has definitely inspired me to give it a shot 🚀

I'm curious about your WhatsApp bot - are you using the Twilio node to handle messages?

I had a similar experience with tutorials, they always seem to gloss over the really useful stuff. I ended up just experimenting with different nodes and workflows until I got the hang of it. Gemini is a great tool for getting help when you're stuck though!
