Proving n8n Workflow Functionality to Clients

Hey WebNutch community, I'm looking for advice on how to demonstrate the effectiveness of an n8n workflow to a potential client. The workflow is designed to work with Facebook Ads Manager and performs all the necessary calculations, but I'm facing a challenge in showcasing its capabilities without actual ad data. Since Facebook doesn't offer sandbox accounts with meaningful data, I'm hesitant to spend money on fake ads just to gather data for demonstration purposes. My goal is to convince a non-technical client that the workflow works as intended, focusing on its functionality and benefits rather than the technical backend. I've considered offering a demo run using the client's own ad account, but I'm not keen on this approach. Has anyone else faced a similar dilemma? Are there alternative methods for showcasing n8n workflow functionality to clients, especially when it comes to integrating with platforms like Facebook Ads Manager? I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this matter. The WebNutch marketplace has a wide range of automation workflows, but this particular one has the potential to save the client a significant amount of time and money, so I'm eager to find a solution that works.

I'd like to add to the video walkthrough idea - you could also create a series of screenshots or an interactive diagram that shows the workflow in action. This can be especially helpful for non-technical clients who may not fully understand the intricacies of the workflow

One possible solution could be to use a combination of publicly available data sources, such as Facebook's publicly available ad metrics, and then supplement that with your own mock data. This way, you can create a somewhat realistic dataset without having to spend money on actual ads. I'd be happy to help you brainstorm some ideas 🤔

Regarding your idea of creating a mock dataset, how did you go about creating it? Was it a manual process or did you use a tool?

I totally understand your concern about not wanting to spend money on fake ads. Can you elaborate on what specific calculations your workflow performs?

Great post! I've faced a similar issue when demonstrating workflows to clients. Have you considered creating a mock dataset that mimics real ad data?

I've had success with creating a video walkthrough of my workflow, showcasing its features and benefits. It's a great way to demonstrate the 'what' and 'why' without needing actual data 📹

I'm curious, have you explored Facebook's API documentation to see if there are any test accounts or sandbox environments that might be available for developers? Sometimes these types of resources can be hidden in the documentation 🔍
