Simplifying Automation

As we explore the world of automation and workflow building with n8n, it's natural to consider the value we bring to businesses. When talking to business owners and professionals in the WebNutch community, we often find that some of their problems can be solved with relatively simple workflows. This raises an interesting question: is it fair to charge a monthly retainer for solutions that could potentially be figured out by the businesses themselves with a few hours of effort? Of course, this doesn't apply to complex workflows that require specialized expertise, but for more straightforward cases, it's worth considering how we position our services. Perhaps the key lies in highlighting the benefits of ongoing support, maintenance, and optimization that we can offer, beyond just the initial setup. What are your thoughts on this? How do you approach similar situations in the WebNutch marketplace?

I'd love to hear more about how others handle the pricing aspect of this. Do you charge by the hour, or do you offer package deals for certain types of automation services? 🤔

Great post! 💡 This is a topic that's been on my mind lately as I've been working with some clients who could potentially automate some of their tasks in-house.

I agree with the second comment, it's about the value we bring. However, I've found that some clients are willing to pay for the convenience and peace of mind that comes with knowing a professional is handling their automation needs.

Regarding the question about simple workflows, I think the original post is getting at the fact that some businesses might not have the time or expertise to dedicate to learning n8n and building their own automations. That's where we come in - to provide that expertise and save them time in the long run.

I've been in a similar situation where I had to explain to a client why they needed to pay for a custom automation solution when they could've done it themselves with some YouTube tutorials and patience. It's all about the value we bring to the table, right?

Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'relatively simple workflows'? Are we talking about basic data scraping or something more complex like machine learning integration?
